- comments: i mapped out the route, to the best of my memory, and i think it was 3 miles. i stumbled out of bed, got dressed and out as it's hot as hades here. felt good to get out there. people waved hello. one reason why i love the south. another reason is chick fil a. now, if i could just find a running store down here and finally get me those new shoes...

- comments: ahhhh. loud thunderstorms last night broke the heat so i could have a nice, cool birthday run. it was heavenly. watched some art fair booths being constructed, saw some cute boys running, enjoyed the lack of sun beating down on me. this is the best week of the year!

- comments: that first song brought me back to the summer when my hs boyfriend and i were breaking up. i could see myself in my '82 escort, grosgrain ribbon bows dangling from the rearview mirror, singing that song at the top of my lungs while crying my eyes out. i pushed myself to do an extra full block, thinking of my friend running 12 miles this morning.

- comments: my shoes are saucony pro grid ride 3's. i keep forgetting what they are and it makes me nuts because they fit really, really well. i got lost in dsw over the weekend looking at running shoes and realized i had no idea what i owned to even consider what i should replace them with when they get too old.
