- run: 3 mi
- time: ?
- temp: 22
- road conditions: some icy patches, otherwise fine
- aches/pains: just the pain of getting out of bed and running soon after
- what i listened to when i ran: ben folds - in between days, trip shakespeare - late, elliott smith - last call, billy joes - she's always a woman, melanie - brand new key, jackson browne - lawyers in love, flaming lips - yoshimi, casiotone for the painfully alone - bobby malone, regina spektor - samson, kings of leon - crawl
- comments - really, really good run. lawyers in love hit at just the right time - boosted me to make my long run even though i didn't have a lot of time. actually got to enjoy yoshimi instead of skipping over it. samson still brings out different nuances each time i hear it. had to cheat and go over my iphone because hubby was on the computer when i got home again.

- comments - felt really good out there today! wore gloves instead of mittens and it really helped. am sweaty as heck right now but out there it helped keep me just a bit cooler. the belle & sebastian to depeche mode really helped me kick it at the halfway mark. now let's see if i might get some new shoes today?

- comments: wanted to quit halfway through but i feel a lot better now. knew i would. it's nice to be out in the light snow. didn't worry about falling. laced my shoes a little tighter and i think that was helpful.

- run: 3 miles

- run: 2.5 mi
- time: ??
- temp: 25
- road conditions: good
- aches/pains: right ankle as always
- what i listened to when i ran: nin- a warm place, regina spektor - samson, elliott smith - the biggest lie, ben folds five - smoke, ben folds five - raindrops keep falling on my head, no doubt - hella good.
- comments: tried to like "smoke" and found it quite tolerable. "raindrops", however, made me break into a huge smile when i heard the first notes. i keep finding new levels of personal meaning in "samson" - each time i think i see the whole picture, i find something new to see when i hear it. "the biggest lie" is still one of my all-time favorites, expecially lyrically. i'm really starting to dislike running. felt good when i got home but i've got so many other things going on in my life i'm starting to think about moving on. i get to listen to music in my car driving to work now. let's see what happens.

- run: 2.5 mi
- time: ??
- temp: 33
- road conditions: fine, some icy patches
- aches/pains: stretching my shoulder prior to run helped it hurt much less. ankle still hurt a bit, but as i tried to start out with my left foot, that foot started hurting a little. hmmm.
- what i listened to when i ran: george harrison - what is life, some other stuff i can't remember now.
- comments: walked a lot more than i had in the past and got chilly. i think i'm just tired and bummed i won't be doing the 5k. wondering if i'll be able to keep running.
Thursday, February 4, 2010
- run: 3 mi
- time: ???
- temp: 38
- road conditions: dry and easy
- aches/pains: ankle pain didn't go away during run, got the right shoulder pain. it was suggested that i may be holding tension there and should loosen up my shoulders before i run. aha!
- what i listened to when i ran: ladies chatting
- comments: finally decided to make the commitment to do the 5k this weekend, which conflicts with my husband's schedule and had to cancel. oh well, there are more runs all the time.
Wednesday, February 3, 2010
- run: 2.5 mi
- time??
- temp: 32
- road conditions: somewhat slippery
- aches/pains: same as yesterday
- what i listened to when i ran: josh ritter - bad actress, nin - closer, belle and sebastian - the model, guster- long way down, duran duran - careless memories.
- comments: was trying to decide whether or not to stop laying on the couch with my girl or get up and run and ended up running. got home late from work and gulped down my bowl o' mashed potatoes about 2.5 hours before i got to run. probably gave me the energy to do it but boy did it make me sleepy right after. usually wait to eat until after i run but 3pm is too late to put off the first meal of the day...
Tuesday, February 2, 2010
- run: 3 mi
- time: 40 min
- temp: 24
- road conditions: very light snow cover, very light snow coming down
- aches/pains: right foot hurting at start, stopped after a mile or so. right back lower shoulder started aching and kept for the run. all feels fine now.
- what i listened to when i ran: an old nin song, a guster tune, some camera obscura, "evaporated" live w/o the band.
- comments: the music kept me going on a longer run this am even though i can't remember most of the acutal songs. still considering the 5k this weekend but can't decide between that and church as i can't do both. leaning towards church but running the 3 miles before so i can "pretend" i was at the race. kind of afraid people will be unfriendly there as i'd be going alone. at least i know church will be friendly.
