- run: 2.5 miles
- time: 33 min
- temp: 13
- road conditions: dry but really, really cold
- aches/pains: right ankle a little sore to start, shoulders and neck hurt at end
- what i listened to when i ran: i honestly can't remember. it's over 8 hours later and it's excaped me.
- comments: it was cold and uninspiring. wasn't able to get out for the past couple of days because of the busyness of life and i wasn't impressed with running today. thinking about a 5K next weekend but still unable to make that commitment.

- run: 3 miles
- time: ???
- temp: 14
- road conditions: fantastic
- aches/pains: again with the achy knees all day but didn't hurt while running
- what i listened to when i ran: chatter with the running ladies.
- comments: bitter cold, but we ran through downtown, smelled all the good food from the resteraunts, ran around people (few catcalls, but not many). worked, came home, cuddled for 10 minutes, changed, and went to running class. long day but my heart is joyful.

- run: 2.5 miles
- time: 30 minutes
- temp: 24
- road conditions: clear and dry
- aches/pains: knees achy after being in meetings all day, right ankle sore at the beginning
- what i listened to when i ran: some lame new metallica song about recovery - apparently james hetfield got sober and needed to write a song about it like every other musician, a nin song that i didn't like (note to self: delete all nin after the downward spiral album). highlights included guster - airport song (yes i sang along), guster - diane, and tracey ullman - they don't know. the latter amazes me in how i still love it every time i hear it after all these years.
- comments: getting backne and have a huge zit on my face (biggest zit i think i've ever had), but i like the results in the rest of my body.

- run: 2.5 miles
- time: 35 min (it doesn't seem to change, does it?)
- temp: 34 and windy
- road conditions: small, intermittent snowflakes on dry ground
- what i listened to when i ran: going from a memory that was earlier in the day - a belle and sebastian song from tigermilk and i don't remember at all the rest.
- comments: was trying to go fast because i was meeting a friend for lunch after. got a call during the run but not from the prospective employer i was waiting to hear from. that came much later. but it came, and it was lovely.

- run: 3 miles (ran 2.5 yesterday)
- time: 35 min
- temp: 43!!!!!
- road conditions: wet and icky
- aches/pains: right foot hurt some at the beginning, then stopped
- what i listened to when i ran: tears for fears - memories fade, metallica - cyanide, kings of leon - knocked up, belle and sebastian - expectations, other lives - speed tape, the morning benders - crosseyed.
- comments - went out pissed off and feeling hopeless and came home still feeling pretty hopeless. the dank conditions outside and the music didn't help (suicide, i've already died, you're just the funeral i've been waiting for). i thought james hetfield stopped drinking for crissakes. ran longer today because it's supposed to snow tomorrow and everything is still up in the air. at least some decision should fall in the next day or so. fear and entrapment are two of the worst feelings and i get to experience them together.

January 22, 2010
- run: 2.5 miles
- time: 35 min
- temp: 34
- road conditions: mostly dry, some melting ice
- aches/pains: none
- what i listened to when i ran: michael jackson - ben, yaz - state farm, metallica - creeping death, darren jessee - norina, elliott smith - happiness (gondola man)
- comments: also heard a live version of "gone" - need to delete those crappy live shows off of my ipod. always love to hear "state farm" - makes me giggle inside. really needed a run as i've been super anxious all day. good anxiety turned to fearful, but i feel much more peaceful now. what's done is done and it's in God's hands.

- temp: 29
- road conditions: little bits of black ice, but pretty good

- comments: big day. glad i ran my longest run today. i'll be in the car a lot, listening to my ipod and i hope it puts out better songs.

road conditions: looked slick at 7:45 am, but were dry
aches/pains: not quite fully awake

- aches/pains: knees were achy yesterday, but felt fine this am

- what i listened to: chatted with gal from class
- comments: nice to run with someone else at the same beginning level i am. got to watch some "real" runners who were out around the same time we were. saw one's fancy watch. also saw the homeless at the breakfast program, and one guy sleeping under the edge of an abandoned building. he was pretty well bundled up.

January 15, 2010
run: 2.5 miles
time: 30-35 min.
temp: 35
road conditions: wet but not icy
aches/pains: none
what i listened to while i ran: rem - "a day in the life", spandau ballet - "gold", matthew sweet - "everything changes", nin - "last", elliott smith - "alameda".
comments: i love how i get transported in time to the snapshot when i remember hearing each song a lot. there i was, in my bedroom, neon green light from my boombox barely putting out enough wattage for me to write in my notebook. "you set out to conquer every single day" back in 1998, and was doing just that. that old couch in my apartment where i was thrown away (so was the couch, eventually). and it was nice to walk down my street, even if it wasn't alameda.
